<p>Most women tend to accumulate fat around their thighs, bottom and hip areas. It can tough to shift, but there are several fat loss exercises that work very well. Squats, lunges and plies are the best exercises to do to lose fat and tone up your body. You should be careful to do the exercises properly so as to avoid injury to your knees.</p>
<p>To do a basic squat you start with your legs slightly more than shoulder length apart. Then you bend your knees as far as you can in a slow and controlled manner. You can stick your bottom out at the back a little too. To begin with you should try doing three sets of 10 and then as you strengthen the muscle you can increase the number of sets.</p>
<p>An inexpensive and very useful piece of sports equipment is a fit ball. There are many very effective fat exercises that you can do using one of these balls. If you have weak knees, then a fit ball can make doing squats easier. You place the ball between your back and a wall. Then using the ball you roll down the wall into the squatting position and then roll up the wall to the starting stance.</p>
<p>Lunges are also very effective fat loss exercises for women. A basic lunge is done by starting with your legs together. Then step forward on your right foot about 24 inches and bend your right leg to a right angle, keeping your knee over your toes. Return to your standing position and repeat on the left foot. Start your fat loss exercise doing 2 sets of 10 on each leg and increase gradually. Lunges should be in a controlled manner to maximize muscle use and limit the chance of jarring your joints.</p>
<p>Another great exercise for the fit ball is to lie on your back and put your feet up onto the fit ball. Using your arms to steady you, elevate your back to an angle and bring the fit ball into your bottom, then extend your legs out again. This exercise is ideal for toning the calves, thighs, bottom and abdominal muscles. Start with 2 sets of ten, while continuing to breathe deeply and slowly try to increase to six sets.</p>
<p>Ballet plies are a fabulous way to tone the inner thighs and hip area. You do a plie by pointing your toes out and placing your heels together. Pull up your knees and thighs, pull your belly button in towards your spine, pull your shoulders back and tense your bottom muscles. This is your starting position. Keeping your body in line, bend you knees as far as you can while keeping your heels on the ground. Don&#8217;t let your knees swing forwards; they must remain in line with your toes. Return to the starting stance and repeat. Start with six sets of 10.</p>
